Singing joyfully at the northeast tip to welcome the first light—16 food trucks offering free breakfast

Entering its sixth year, the Northeast Coast “First Light Party” will be held at Fulong Beach. In addition to performances by seven artists including Chen Shian, there will also be 16 food trucks serving a variety of Chinese and Western breakfasts to those who come to greet the sunrise. However, participants must register online in advance, and only 1,000 spots are available.

The organizers have launched the “First Mysterious Light Gift,” where the first 1,000 participants can receive freebies including breakfast vouchers, round-trip train tickets from Taipei to Fulong, and the “First Mysterious Light Gift.” Online registration begins at 9 a.m. on the 13th.

The “First Light Party” will kick off at 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, leading up to the welcome of the first light of 2014. Artists including Chen Shian, Yu Bingyian, and Bii (Bishu Jin) will take turns hosting and performing, with the event continuing until 7:30 a.m. Afterward, it’s also a great idea to check out the nearby Laolai Sea Erosion Platform and the scenic beauty of Sandiao Cape.

Additionally, to coincide with the First Light event, Taiwan Railways will operate five extra “Taiwan Rail First Light Special Trains” from 1:45 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, departing from Banqiao and making stops only at Taipei, Songshan, Nangang, and Fulong.
