Only hotels rated 7.5 or above are eligible – The Global Outstanding Hotels Awards, Taiwan’s 20 winners

The prestigious annual Global Outstanding Hotels Awards “Golden Ring Awards,” announced by a well-known booking website, revealed 661 recognized hotels, including 20 from Taiwan. For the first time, accommodations in Nantou, Kenting, and Hualien have also made the list. This reflects that Taiwan’s hotels not only win the affection of both domestic and international travelers, but also maintain increasingly refined and solid attention to detail.

The selection criteria for the Golden Ring Awards include an average guest rating of 7.5 or higher, effective use of the booking website's backend management system (Yield Control System) to optimize reservation information and manage orders efficiently, consistent price competitiveness, as well as a thorough understanding of the complexities of online reservations. A comprehensive evaluation across multiple factors is used to identify the outstanding winning hotels of the year.

Errol Cooke, Vice President of Global Hotels at Agoda.com, stated: “The Golden Ring Awards are a mark of honor in the online booking industry. We present this award to recognize all our outstanding hotel partners who are committed to offering the fastest and most convenient booking experience for global online travelers.” This year’s Golden Ring Award-winning hotels span the globe, totaling 661 – 167 more than last year. Meanwhile, the number of Taiwanese winners has increased from 15 to 20.

With the continued growth of tourism in Taiwan, both locals and foreign visitors are discovering more of the island’s attractions through booking websites. In addition to regular winners like hotels in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, this year accommodations in Nantou, Kenting, and Hualien have also received recognition. Notably, beyond star-rated hotels, unique guesthouses that are favored by both local and international travelers from China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Europe and America have made the list for the first time, highlighting how Taiwan’s distinctive homestay culture is gradually making its mark on the global tourism scene.
