Following the yellow rubber duck bus and themed hotel rooms, the ultra-cute yellow rubber duck train made its debut today (13th)! To celebrate the arrival of the yellow rubber duck in Keelung, Taiwan Railways not only unveiled the painted local train today but also brought back the first-generation Tze-Chiang Limited Express, which will run on the Keelung–Shulin route. Onlookers eagerly awaited the chance to see the yellow rubber duck train.

Wang Ying-che, Deputy Director of the Transportation and Tourism Division of Keelung City Government, stated that the painted train cost a total of NT$320,000 to produce, with four carriages of the local train featuring yellow rubber duck designs. The vintage Tze-Chiang Limited Express has a yellow rubber duck design on the front, and both trains will operate on the Keelung–Shulin route. Luo Yun-shan, Chief of Keelung Station of Taiwan Railways, also mentioned that from December 21, 2013, to February 8, 2014, in conjunction with the yellow rubber duck exhibition spanning 50 days, Taiwan Railways will add up to 349 extra train services. However, the yellow duck train will only be available on weekends, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and during the Lunar New Year period.

The additional Taiwan Railways services are divided into three routes: Keelung–Shulin, Keelung–Qidu, and Keelung–Hsinchu. Among them, the Keelung–Shulin route will add a local train service at 10 PM every day during the event period. On 19 days including weekends, January 1 and 31, and February 3 and 4, 2014, the EM100-type yellow rubber duck train will run between Keelung and Shulin from 8:42 AM to 2:20 PM, making three single trips daily and stopping at Shulin, Banqiao, Taipei, Songshan, Nangang, Qidu, and Keelung stations.

The Tze-Chiang Limited Express on the Keelung–Qidu route will add services every weekend starting December 21 and on January 1 and 31, 2014. The painted local train on the Keelung–Hsinchu route will operate on weekends and on December 25, 31, January 1 and 31, and February 3 and 4, 2014, carrying passengers.
