Over 2,000 gingerbread pieces make up Taiwan’s largest gingerbread house, now on display in Kaohsiung covering 5.5 pyeong

A massive 5.5 pyeong gingerbread house has appeared in Kaohsiung. To celebrate Christmas, the Holiday Inn Resort Kaohsiung used 2,653 gingerbread pieces, 303 doughnuts, 557 bread rolls, and 42 baguettes to create this colossal gingerbread house measuring 5.5 pyeong. In addition to being a photo spot and visual attraction, the hotel is also offering a special Christmas dining experience inside the gingerbread house.

The gingerbread house took 10 working days and over 200 hours to create, involving processes such as kneading dough, molding, baking, cooling, and decorating. It also creatively incorporates the popular game Candy Crush, with “two” game screens installed on either side of the structure.

The gingerbread house measures 475 cm in width, 366 cm in depth, and 366 cm in height. It will be on display in the hotel lobby from now until New Year’s Day. Pastry chefs also used spices such as star anise and cinnamon to help preserve the gingerbread house’s appearance.
