Soaking in Tuscany: Back to Ancient Roman Baths

In Tuscany, Italy, there’s a hotel called Calidario Hotel that has designed a public bathhouse modeled after Roman baths, making bathers feel as if they’ve traveled back to the Middle Ages.

Calidario Hotel has a natural spring that gushes out 12,000 gallons of 36°C water per minute, which is then heated in a processing room to become thermal spring water. According to the operators, for centuries, this spring has been a favorite gathering spot for clergy, knights, legions, and dukes—where they would meet, chat, and conduct business.

The hotel also offers accommodation, with guest rooms featuring marble exteriors and red-brick arches that showcase local countryside charm. Its convenient location provides easy access to the city’s major tourist and shopping destinations, making its prime resources and location highly popular among visitors.
