Circus Parade Brings Color to the Streets – New Taipei Christmasland’s “Naughty Kids Winter Wonderland” Opens

“Jingle bells, jingle bells!” As Christmas draws nearer, the mysterious big gift from New Taipei Christmasland, the “Naughty Kids Winter Wonderland,” kicked off on the 14th, transforming Banqiao Station and the surrounding expansive parks into a vibrant large-scale amusement park. The event opened with a circus parade, featuring spectacular acrobatics and stilt-walking performances. The New Taipei City Mounted Police Unit also joined in the fun with 12 majestic horses, becoming another highlight of the day.

The circus parade, the opening event of New Taipei Christmasland’s “Naughty Kids Winter Wonderland,” saw elaborately dressed circus performers walking on stilts, riding unicycles, and showcasing various acrobatic acts. Cartoon character mascots also appeared in the parade, with both kids and adults dressing up in “Christmas outfits” to join in the fun. Most notably, members of the New Taipei City Mounted Police Unit made a dashing appearance on horseback, drawing cheers and photo-taking from the crowd.

The New Taipei City Government stated that the “Naughty Kids Winter Wonderland” features six free amusement rides, including a track train, carousel, space shuttle, inflatable castle, bumper cars, and this year’s most popular attraction — the yellow rubber duck. The city government has also turned the expansive Wanping Park near Banqiao Station into a large-scale whimsical cartoon park, setting up cartoon character statues such as SpongeBob, Patrick Star, and YOYO MAN for visitors to take photos with.

The city government noted that the wonderland will be open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM until January 1 of next year. Visitors can enjoy the amusement rides for free. The event venue is also decorated with festive Christmas displays and features performances by street artists.
