The yellow rubber duck, which will make its grand finale appearance at Keelung Harbor this weekend (21st), was today for the first time inflated and tested by the organizers at Foguangshan Nongchan Temple. Keelung City Council Speaker Huang Jing-tai also led the media into the “duck’s butt.” Although it won’t be spinning, they still hope to offer the media more surprising images. Huang Jing-tai said that the “simplicity and joy” emphasized by Florentijn Hofman will run through the entire Keelung duck exhibition period, and it will not disappoint duck fans.

After entering the duck’s butt, Huang Jing-tai explained to the media that the 18-meter-tall duck has a specially reinforced zipper and extra-stitched seams in the butt area to prevent an incident like the one where the duck in Taoyuan burst. The goal is to make it completely windproof, waterproof, and sealed off from the outside, while also using four blowers to keep the duck “full of energy” at all times.
