This ship is marketed as environmentally friendly, using battery power, and is named in honor of Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen.。

It is reported to have two decks, with a science center on the observation deck offering high-tech touchscreens where passengers can learn about the local landscape and wildlife during the voyage.
