The Dongsha River Route Beats Yangmingshan and Sun Moon Lake！ Taiwan’s Top 10 Scenic Bus Routes Announced

Organized by the Ministry of Transportation, the “Travel by Bus: Top 10 Scenic Routes” recently announced the results of its online vote. The “Pingxi Intellectual Journey,” which passes through seven major attractions including Pingxi Old Street, took first place, while the Dongsha River travel route ranked second, surpassing many well-known routes such as Yangmingshan and Sun Moon Lake.

The second-place “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Dongsha River Line” travels through numerous Yilan attractions including the Dongsha River, Luodong Night Market, and the National Center for Traditional Arts, receiving 167,000 votes—just slightly behind the first-place “Pingxi Intellectual Journey” with 168,000 votes. From the starting point at Luodong Sports Park to the final stop at the National Center for Traditional Arts, a one-way full fare is NT$38, and half fare is NT$19.

The top five of Taiwan’s 10 most scenic bus routes are:“Pingxi Intellectual Journey” on the Shiding-Pingxi Line, “Family Fun by the Dongsha River” on the Dongsha River Line, “Yangmingshan: Light and Dark Allure” on the Yangmingshan Garden Route, “Winter Visit to Guanziling” on the Xinying-Baihe Line, and “Nature’s Marvel: The Spitting Gorge” on the Hualien-Tianshiang Line..

The sixth to tenth places are: “Rice Fields I Love” on the Taitung-Chihshang Line, “Four Seasons in Shocking Beauty: Kenting” on the High-Speed Rail Zuoying Station-Kenting Line, “Lohas Stroll Around Sun Moon Lake” on the Taichung-Puli-Sun Moon Lake-Dehua She-Xuan Guang Temple Line, “Forest Spirits in Xitou” on the Taichung-Xitou Line, and “Golden Coast of Toucheng Town” on the Metro Yuanshan Station-Nangang Exhibition Center Station-Wushih Harbor Line.
