After its first ineffective bath on the 25th, Keelung’s Yellow Rubber Duck underwent cleaning again on the 28th. This time, an eco-friendly detergent was used, and the results were significantly better — the cleaned parts regained their shine. Due to the lengthy cleaning process, only “half” of the duck was washed on the 28th, turning it into a “black-and-white” figure. Some visitors who came to see the duck used time-lapse photography to capture the bathing process. After the video was uploaded to the official Facebook fan page of Keelung’s Rubber Duck, it received widespread attention.

The 28th was the first sunny day since the Rubber Duck’s exhibition in Keelung, and with it falling on a weekend, it attracted over 150,000 visitors, setting a new record since the event began. Organizers stated that starting now, the duck’s nightly lights-out time will be extended from 9 PM to 10 PM. On the 29th, the remaining unwashed parts of the duck will be cleaned to restore its beautiful appearance sooner.
