The “2014 Taipei’s Most Exciting New Year City” New Year’s Eve gala, organized by the Taipei City Government, will be held on a grand scale at Civic Square on December 31. It will feature a lineup of superstars, top idols, and popular groups, as well as international elements, including a live connection with Japan’s NHK to broadcast the live performance of Masaharu Fukuyama’s concert in Yokohama.

Taipei Broadcasting Station will also set up a “mobile broadcasting studio” on-site from 7:00 PM on December 31, 2013, to 1:00 AM on January 1, 2014, to provide a live broadcast of the event and share the entire program with listeners. Tune in to the radio station’s channels FM93.1 and AM1134 for the simulcast “Live Broadcast of the 2014 Taipei’s Most Exciting New Year City New Year’s Eve Gala.”

After the New Year’s Eve gala, the “Taipei 130th Anniversary – Calligraphy for New Fortune” event, hosted by the Taipei City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs, will also begin at 2:00 PM on January 1 at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hotel Taipei, where 130 renowned calligraphers, new immigrants to Taipei from around the world, and foreign friends will gather together.

At 2:30 PM, 2,000 lucky calligraphy brush bags will be given out at the square. Pre-registration is required for the lucky calligraphy brush bags. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last.
