Super adorable panda cub makes debut – visitors can interact through 4cm glass starting June 6

The panda cub has made its appearance！ Taipei City Zoo's giant panda cub "Yuan Zai" officially met the public on June 6, allowing visitors to finally see the nearly six-month-old, over 13-kilogram cub showing off its cuteness up close. The zoo stated that after entering the park, visitors must collect a panda pavilion entry ticket and enter at the designated time. Each session lasts 10 minutes, and those who are “especially lucky” may even get to admire Yuan Zai’s every move through a glass just 4 centimeters away.

At the press conference held on the 4th, Yuan Zai made a brief 30-minute appearance. Its chubby body climbed up and down on the perch, and its adorable look instantly won over the nearly 100 media reporters present. Initially full of energy, Yuan Zai “ran out of steam” after about 20 minutes and began sleeping soundly, while its mother Yuan Yuan continued eating nearby, unfazed.

The zoo stated that starting June 6, visitors can view Yuan Zai. Panda pavilion tickets will be distributed at the zoo’s main entrance. The pavilion is open from 9:10 AM to 5:10 PM, with a daily limit of 19,200 visitors and 400 admitted every 10 minutes. To accommodate the large crowds coming to see the pandas, the Maokong Gondola, which is normally closed on Mondays, will also operate as usual on June 6.

The zoo noted that starting with the 10:10 AM session, 50 spots per session will be reserved for visitors arriving via the Maokong Gondola. Tickets can be collected at the zoo’s on-site station entrance, and visitors must enter the pavilion within the time slot indicated on their ticket. Those arriving late must first queue in the “Late Arrival Waiting Area” with their ticket, and on-site staff will allow a suitable number of additional entrants into that session based on the queue situation.
