Tainan Hot Air Balloon Festival – Even the Little Duck and Panda Join in the Fun

There’s a hot air balloon festival in winter too? The Tainan Winter Hot Air Balloon Fire Dance Art Festival kicked off on January 15 at Zouma Lai Farm. In addition to offering large hot air balloons for public rides, riding the wave of the popularity of the Panda and Little Duck, the event also features a 10-meter-tall panda and a “thick-lipped” yellow duck standing balloon. This year, fire dance equipment that has performed at the Olympics has also been introduced, allowing visitors to enjoy spectacular 6-meter-high flames.

The Winter Hot Air Balloon Art Festival lasts for one month. The event site has specially set up a 10-meter-tall panda and duck standing balloon. On the 18th, 1,000 yellow ducks will also be given away, hoping to attract both “panda fans” and “duck fans.” Recently, the organizers showcased the large hot air balloons in advance. Once the balloon’s propulsion burner is activated, the flames pump air into the balloon, and the colorful hot air balloons slowly ascend into the sky.

The organizer noted that visitors can ride the hot air balloons to personally experience the thrill of soaring through the skies. In addition to overlooking the vast grasslands of the farm from high above, those who look farther can also admire the unique badland landscape of Moon World. Each large hot air balloon can carry 6 to 7 people, with a ride lasting about 5 minutes. There are a total of 11 hot air balloons at the event site, offering approximately 1,200 rides per day. Each ride costs between 300 and 500 New Taiwan Dollars.

In addition to hot air balloons, the organizers have also “imported” American fire dance performances, featuring 6-meter flames that change their spraying patterns along with the rhythm of the music. During the event, there will also be a hot air balloon light sculpture concert every Saturday night. Visitors who prefer a more relaxed experience can also visit the static hot air balloon museum and cultural creativity exhibition hall.
