2014 Japan cherry blossom forecast released: Fukuoka March 19, Tokyo March 24, Sendai April 10

In just a few months, the annual Japanese cherry blossom season will soon begin, and the Japan Meteorological Corporation has already released the 2014 cherry blossom front.

According to the data, northern Japan was warmer than average last December but colder than usual this January. Based on temperature trends, the blooming period is expected to be similar to previous years.
Additionally, in eastern and western Japan, although October last year was very hot, November turned cold again with temperatures lower than average, so blooming is also expected to proceed as forecast.
Furthermore, the predicted temperatures from January to March this year are close to those of previous years, but the blooming period in some regions may be slightly earlier than usual.

Additionally, according to travel experts in Japan, the "Kawazu-zakura" cherry blossoms in the Izu and Atami areas are an early-blooming variety. Travelers wishing to see cherry blossoms earlier can keep an eye on the Kawazu-zakura bloom status.
