Record-breaking number of Japanese tourists; Booking site offers discounts at 40 hotels

Japan is the top overseas destination for Taiwanese travelers, and the depreciation of the yen has pushed the number of Taiwanese visiting Japan to a new high. In 2013 alone, over 2.1 million people chose to travel to Japan. A well-known booking site has taken the opportunity to offer discounts of up to 50% off at more than 40 hotels across Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Hakone, and Mount Fuji.

The booking site is offering a limited-time promotion from January 20 to 24, with discounts available on stays from January 20 to March 2, with savings of up to 50% off. Travelers can take advantage of the Lunar New Year holiday to fly to Japan and welcome the Year of the Horse. This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday, and there’s also a three-day break at the end of February, making it the perfect time to plan a Japanese getaway for shopping, admiring the picturesque sights of Kyoto and Osaka, or soaking in hot springs while enjoying the scenery.
