“Doctor Who” Police Box Hidden in a London Subway Station

Dubbed the world’s longest-running science fiction series, “Doctor Who” has been on air for over 50 years, growing up with many Britons. Many of its scenes were shot on the streets of London, including where the Doctor battles the evil “Daleks,” his workplace, leisure spots… Even the show’s iconic “TARDIS” (police telephone box) is actually hidden somewhere in London!

In 1964, the first battle between the Doctor and the Daleks took place at “Trafalgar Square”; when the Doctor isn’t in London, the “Thames Barrier Information Centre” becomes the city’s defense against outside threats; other locations such as the London Eye, Battersea Power Station, and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre have also appeared in the show.

As for the most beloved TARDIS by fans, where is it hidden? Near the “Earl's Court Station” subway station in London, there is a blue police telephone box that’s not hard to spot once you exit the station; another one is kept in the film museum, used as a prop in the 1965 filming.
