The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on the 24th that the conflict in Ukraine is showing signs of spreading. Starting today, the travel alert level for Ukraine has been raised to “orange,” advising the public to avoid traveling there unless absolutely necessary.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that since late November last year, due to the issue of whether to sign an “Association Agreement” with the EU, a series of anti-government demonstrations and protests broke out in the capital, Kyiv. The situation has remained tense for over two months. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that on January 19 this year, deadly clashes between police and civilians erupted in Ukraine, resulting in hundreds of injuries and three deaths. The conflict is showing signs of spreading, and there is also a possibility that the situation could spiral out of control in the future.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that starting today, the travel alert level for Ukraine has been raised to “orange.” It advises the public to avoid traveling to Ukraine unless absolutely necessary and reminds those who need to travel to Ukraine for business purposes in the near future to remain particularly vigilant and avoid areas where protests or demonstrations are taking place.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs divides travel alerts into four levels: the highest alert level “red” (travel not advised), followed by “orange” (exercise high caution, avoid non-essential travel), “yellow” (pay special attention to travel safety and reconsider the necessity of travel), and the least severe “gray.” (Source: Central News Agency)
