Among the passengers on the inaugural flight arriving at Taoyuan Airport at 14:15 was one particularly special traveler. To witness the first-ever Air Canada Taipei–Vancouver flight, he flew 12 hours from Vancouver to Taiwan, stayed for just 1.5 hours, and then boarded the first return flight to Vancouver—truly the wildest “Taiwan–Canada pop-up.”

The Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Taipei arrived at Taoyuan Airport this afternoon at 14:15.Among them, Mr. Zhang, a passenger who has lived in Canada for 21 years, was the highlight of the inaugural flight, as he would board the flight from Taoyuan just 1.5 hours later and fly directly back to Vancouver—essentially making a round trip between Taiwan and Canada in one day.Mr. Zhang said that although he is Taiwanese, he has lived in Canada for 21 years and doesn’t often return to Taiwan. This time, he made a special trip back to his hometown to witness this historic moment, as Air Canada resumed its non-stop Taipei–Vancouver flights after a 14-year hiatus.
