Spring Festival Panda Shuttle & Super-Cute "Yuan Zai" Red Packets

Ride the Yuan Zai bus to see Yuan Zai and get a Yuan Zai red packet too! The giant panda cub Yuan Zai’s “cuteness level” continues to soar, attracting large numbers of visitors. To encourage the public to take the free shuttle bus “Panda Shuttle Route 123,” the Taipei City Government will randomly distribute limited-edition Yuan Zai red packet envelopes on the shuttle buses from New Year’s Day to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year. Let Yuan Zai keep you company for a joyful festive season.

The “Panda Shuttle Route 123” will operate throughout the Spring Festival. From New Year’s Day to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, the service runs daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with buses departing every 10–15 minutes. To coincide with the shuttle’s operating schedule, the underground parking lot at Xinyi District Government Plaza also offers a complimentary 6-hour parking promotion. Visitors can get their parking ticket stamped at the zoo to enjoy the discount and can then transfer directly to the free Panda Shuttle to reach the zoo.

Yuan Zai currently weighs 16.7 kilograms and is gradually exploring a wider area. According to the zoo, “Yuan Zai” is still a baby and sometimes needs help from the caretakers. She also enjoys chasing moving objects, so she often runs after the keepers once she’s let down onto the ground. When the weather permits, Yuan Zai takes a short outdoor workout in a small exercise yard before entering the indoor exhibition area, where she can also enjoy the sunshine. In the future, the “Yuan Yuan” mother-daughter pair and “Tuan Tuan” will take turns using the outdoor exhibit area.

The zoo will be closed on January 30 (New Year’s Eve). In response to the earlier opening of the Panda House, it will open at 8:30 a.m. from New Year’s Day to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, closing at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to visit the zoo for a festive stroll.
