PK Yellow Rubber Duck: Jiuhuashan’s 18-Meter-Tall “Lucky Dog” to Ring in the New Year

While Keelung has the Yellow Rubber Duck, Yunlin has the “Big Lucky Dog”! Jiuhuashan World has created Taiwan’s only inflatable “Lucky Dog,” standing an impressive 18 meters tall—about the height of a six-story building—and just as adorable as the duck. In addition, the park has also produced 168 smaller 90-centimeter-tall Lucky Dogs, placed throughout the park, each with unique expressions and poses. With both big and little Lucky Dogs gathered together, the level of cuteness is off the charts.

The park stated that it recently obtained the sole Taiwan license for the Japanese cartoon “The Girl of the Alps – Heidi,” the first time Hayao Miyazaki was involved in such an animation project, and introduced the Big Lucky Dog. It is currently placed in front of the iconic Ferris wheel, attracting both adults and children who come specifically to see the dog. The 168 smaller Lucky Dogs will all be in place by the 28th, and since each one has a different pose, many visitors are taking photos while lying on or posing with them.

The park estimates that visitor numbers during the Lunar New Year holiday will exceed 100,000. From New Year’s Day to the fifth day of the New Year, they will also launch special Lunar New Year scratch cards to bring good luck and cheer to visitors. Customers who spend NT$168 or more in the park will receive one scratch card, with the grand prize being a one-year unlimited pass to Jiuhuashan worth NT$330,000. Prizes totaling NT$1.68 million will be given out during the Lunar New Year period.
