Kinmen National Park will remain open during the Lunar New Year holiday. Apart from New Year’s Eve (January 30), when it will be closed for internal cleaning, the visitor center and all tourist service stations will continue to operate and provide services from the first to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year (January 31 to February 4), allowing visitors to explore various attractions.

As a former military base that also retains pristine ecological surroundings, Kinmen National Park is a national park that preserves natural ecology, historic settlements, wartime culture, and holds both military historical and ecological value. In addition, an increasing number of migratory birds are wintering in Kinmen, with cormorants being the main species—now numbering over ten thousand. Given Kinmen’s compact size, many areas offer great opportunities to observe these birds. For those considering an island getaway during the Lunar New Year, Kinmen is an excellent choice.

Moreover, in collaboration with the Kinmen Defense Command and Kinmen County Government, the “Skyward Journey – Taming the Summit & Mingde Spring Stroll” tour program will be available from January 31 to February 4 (the first to fifth days of the Lunar New Year). Visitors can tour the Taming the Summit Hall, Mingde Park, and General Hu Lian Memorial Hall during this period. Shuttle bus services run from 8:40 AM to 3:40 PM.
