Northern Taiwan’s Largest: Shulin Xingren Night Market with 400 Stalls Opens on June 10

Covering an area of 15,000 ping and featuring a total of 400 stalls, the New Taipei City Shulin Xingren Garden Night Market is set to officially open tonight (June 10), becoming the largest night market in northern Taiwan. In terms of facilities, it includes shelters, electrostatic fume extractors, oil-water separation drainage systems, and toilets that cost over a million NT dollars to build.

The Shulin District Xingren Garden Night Market in New Taipei City is not a relocation of the Xingren Garden Night Market in Taoyuan City’s Bade District, but rather a brand-new market created by the night market operating team in Shulin District. It is also touted as the largest “legally licensed chain garden night market” in northern Taiwan. The operating team spent one year selecting the site and four years preparing, successively obtaining establishment, construction, usage permits, opening handover, and opening approvals. Meanwhile, Xingren Garden Night Market also emphasizes environmental protection, having fully switched to biodegradable rice-straw chopsticks in 2015, with carryout bags and utensils all complying with environmental regulations.

On opening day, there will also be a “Million NT Dollars in Gifts Giveaway” event, with scratch cards being handed out starting at 6 p.m., offering prizes including 50 43-inch LCD TVs, 20 LG washing machines, 90 capsule coffee machines, and 500 21-speed folding bikes.
