Beware of disappointment: Riverside bike rentals, the National Palace Museum, and Taipei 101 Observatory adjust hours for Lunar New Year

The Riverside Bicycle Path, Taipei 101, and the National Palace Museum are must-visit spots for many travelers exploring Taipei. In response to the Lunar New Year holiday, services at these three popular destinations have been adjusted. Be sure to plan your Lunar New Year itinerary carefully to avoid any letdowns.

Taipei Riverside Bicycles
Ten rental stations along the Taipei Riverside Bicycle Path will be closed from January 30 to January 31, resuming normal holiday operating hours from February 1 to 4.

National Palace Museum
The National Palace Museum will be open until 4:00 p.m. on January 30 (Lunar New Year’s Eve), with normal opening hours resuming on January 31. Additionally, during past Spring Festival holidays, visitor numbers have surged. Please book group audio guides in advance according to museum regulations and arrive at the scheduled time. Due to limited storage space and to save queuing time, visitors are advised not to bring backpacks, large bags, or thick clothing into the museum.

Taipei 101 Observatory
The Taipei 101 Observatory will adjust its operating hours on January 30 (Lunar New Year’s Eve) to 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with ticket sales ending at 5:15 p.m. Normal hours will resume from January 31 onward.
