Rich in artistic charm and modernity – Melbourne is the best city for independent travel

Australia enjoys a pleasant climate and offers rich tourism resources. More and more people are traveling there. Statistics from October 2012 to September 2013 show that 38,600 Taiwanese visitors traveled to Victoria, a 10% increase compared to the same period.

Li Wei, Director of the Greater China Region at Tourism Victoria, said that Melbourne is one of the world’s most livable cities and also a modern metropolis rich in artistic atmosphere, making it very suitable for independent travelers. Although Victoria is the smallest of Australia’s six states, it boasts diverse and abundant tourism resources. Within just one or two hours’ drive, you can see snow-covered mountains, vast wine estates, sunny beaches, spectacular rock formations, expansive farms, and unique Australian wildlife such as little penguins, koalas, and seals. I believe every traveler who comes to Victoria will have unforgettable and wonderful memories.

Tourism Victoria will also collaborate with eight travel agencies participating in Cathay Pacific’s “Easy Getaway to Melbourne” program to launch independent travel packages. These will be promoted through Facebook fan pages, radio broadcasts, and independent travel seminars. The Cathay Pacific “Easy Getaway to Melbourne” product line includes “Taste of Australia: Relaxed Melbourne 6-Day,” “Melbourne Fun & Adventure 8-Day,” and “Easy Getaway to Melbourne (Flight + Hotel) Basic 4-Day.” The basic package starts at NT$28,000.
