The God of Wealth and Flying Panda Cub Climb Taiwan’s Largest Bamboo Shoot to Celebrate the New Year

On the eve of Lunar New Year, Santa Claus at New Taipei City’s Happy Christmas Town dons festive attire to transform into the God of Wealth, while the Flying Bear Cub becomes an adorable Flying Panda Cub. Together, they present the “super cute, bear-bringing fortune” Lunar New Year light show every hour from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, continuing to celebrate with everyone from Lunar New Year all the way to the Lantern Festival.

From January 28 to February 14 (the 15th day of the first lunar month, the Lantern Festival), the 3-minute and 55-second Lunar New Year light show will start promptly at the top of every hour from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (light shows at the top of the hour will be suspended from January 30 to February 1).
This year’s Lunar New Year light show is headlined by the God of Wealth and the adorable Panda Cub, brought to life through LED light tubes capable of displaying 65,536 colors, creating a vibrant full-color animation. The show features various festive and auspicious elements; the Flying Panda Cub soars across the sky on a kite, while the God of Wealth ascends a 35.5-meter-tall Fortune Tree to spread New Year blessings. During the holiday season, head to New Taipei City’s Civic Plaza to soak in the lively and joyful festive atmosphere.
