Celebrate Chinese New Year at domestic theme parks: 18-meter-tall "Giant Riff" debuts in Taiwan

Have you decided where to go during the Lunar New Year holiday? A domestic theme park has secured the license for the Japanese anime "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" and is displaying Taiwan’s only 18-meter-tall "Giant Riff," which has become a huge hit with visitors. Pre-holiday attendance has already surpassed last year’s figures.

Leofoo Village Theme Park has obtained the license for the Japanese anime "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" from Japan’s Eagle Co., Ltd. The park is now showcasing Taiwan’s only 18-meter-tall, roughly six-story-high "Giant Riff." With its adorable and endearing appearance, it has quickly won the hearts of visitors. Pre-holiday attendance has already exceeded last year’s numbers. Capitalizing on this Riff craze, the park has gone the extra mile to produce 168 smaller Riff models, each standing 90 centimeters tall, ahead of the holiday rush.

From now until March 2, daytime admission is discounted to NT$699, and entry after 1 PM costs just NT$399. During the Lunar New Year period from January 31 to February 9, amusement rides will extend their operating hours until 8 PM. Additionally, spectacular fireworks shows will be launched at 9:45 PM from January 31 to February 4 (Lunar New Year’s Day to the Fifth Day of the New Year).

From the first to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, the park is introducing a special New Year scratch card event. Visitors who spend NT$168 or more in the park will receive one scratch card. In addition to limited-edition Riff plush toys and discount vouchers among other prizes, the park is also offering the grand prize of a one-year unlimited pass to Leofoo Village Theme Park worth NT$330,000. Prizes totaling NT$1.68 million will be given away over the five-day period.
