It closed at the end of August this year but has now reappeared on University Road in Tainan！ It’s been renamed“Hidden Gold_Anping Cat Mini Bus”, and Studio Ghibli fans absolutely can’t miss this afternoon tea dessert shop. Outside, there’s a cute cat mini bus and a giant Totoro for photos, and this time the shop has developed magical gold foil ice cream. They even went to Japan for inspiration and introduced an exclusive non-melting ice cream！

Have you ever tried something as luxurious as gold foil? Here you can experience eating gold foil too！ Hidden Gold’s ice creams mainly come in two types: one with gold powder sprinkled on top (Hidden Gold Ice Cream), and the other with gold foil applied (Gold Foil Ice Cream). Both use edible-grade Japanese gold foil. Additionally, the non-melting ice cream is an exclusive technology imported by Hidden Gold from Japan, currently only available in Japan, Shanghai, and Taiwan (at Hidden Gold). It uses natural ingredients and special techniques to keep the ice cream from melting or losing shape.

The shop is still in trial operation and will officially open on December 19. During the trial sales period, a Hidden Gold Ice Cream is discounted to 80 NTD. In addition to the signature ice creams, there are now more options such as puffs, acorn grilled treats, and baked mochi balls—perfect for coming here to enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea atmosphere.Many recommend the freshly baked tri-color mochi balls, a little slice of happiness you can enjoy without going to Japan. There are also acorn grilled treats (6 pieces), where you can choose two favorite fillings. The owner says the crispy texture without the crust is even more delicious！ The puffs come in two shapes: Little Black Charcoal and No-Face, with four flavors to choose from—their cute shapes will definitely make you reluctant to take a bite.

The whole place is filled with a Japanese style, featuring a comfortable and spacious interior, including a traditional Japanese-style seating area so you can experience sitting on tatami. However, reservations are not accepted—you’ll need to wait on-site for a seat. Takeout is available.
