Mite’s grandmother lived in the Songshan-Nangang area. He remembers that when he was a child and going to visit her, they would always stop by Nangang for some roast goose,
but it’s been quite a while since he last had roast goose. Taking the opportunity during the Lunar New Year, he decided to revisit this delicious treat,
but to his surprise, his usual spot “Eyeglass Roast Goose” was closed, so he tried the neighboring “Liangmei Roast Goose Experts” for something new,
the food offerings at both shops are very similar—they must be long-time rivals,
By a stroke of luck, he got to taste Liangmei Roast Goose’s special flavor, and business was booming—the place was packed when they visited that day.

There were really a lot of people at the entrance—clearly, it’s quite a popular spot.
And the bright yellow signboard is very eye-catching. There’s also a Gnet American internet café next door.
The name of this restaurant, Liangmei Roast Goose Experts, is actually a couplet: “At an auspicious time, roast goose fills the table; delicious dishes await your tasting.”
The boss has quite the poetic touch.

The restaurant looks fairly bright and clean.
It seems that Liangmei Roast Goose Experts is no ordinary eatery—even the high-profile TBVS has done a feature on them.

Roast goose shops usually display their goose meat like this. Although it doesn’t look too appetizing ((because the floors in childhood toilets looked like this too haha)),
but the restaurant has posted certificates showing that the meat is inspected and qualified, which is somewhat reassuring. As for the toilet floor thing, just pretend you didn’t see it XD Anyway, it’s not really unclean or anything.

Walking further into the restaurant, on the left side there are various side dishes such as pig skin, shark jerky, cold seaweed salad, Liangban cucumber, and special tofu.

On the right side, there are large menu items displayed on the wall,
including various types of roast goose, soups, side dishes, and rice/noodle dishes.
After 5 PM, they also serve stir-fried dishes.

((Ah… didn’t notice the table hadn’t been cleared yet before taking the photo, sorry about that!)
There are three large round tables, and four small square tables along the wall—enough seating for colleagues, friends, or family gatherings.
They also offer cold drinks and alcoholic beverages.
I have to say, the menu at Liangmei Roast Goose Experts,
is the longest menu I’ve ever seen at any restaurant.
I couldn’t help but chuckle while ordering, but it was genuinely laugh-out-loud funny XD

The full menu of Liangmei Roast Goose Experts

The menu even specifically states “Please wait patiently during busy hours,”
so customers, please do be patient—it really does take some time.
We also waited quite a while that day. I’d suggest that if you’re really hungry, you can order some pre-prepared side dishes first — those shouldn’t require any waiting time, right? XD
Please note that the price of goose meat is based on the daily market rate. If you have specific preferences, you can ask the owner to prepare certain cuts.
Hot stir-fried dishes, available only after 5 p.m., include country-style preserved radish omelet, crispy pork intestines, garlic-flavored salted pork, and Hakka stir-fry.
All the items in the goose sauce series on the left come with soup, and their prices are quite reasonable.
The shop has dedicated containers for utensils.
The utensils inside the restaurant all come with lids, but the table we sat at was outside the store, and ours didn’t have a lid.
It felt safer to wipe them again with a tissue before using.
P.S. The seats at the front of the store are right next to the road, so remember to wipe the table and chairs with a tissue first, or your white clothes might get dusty.

%? Smoked Goose Meat Price upon request per liang (you may specify cuts such as leg or breast)
When the goose meat is served, a small wooden clip is placed on the plate with the price written on it. ((But the clip touched my meat!!
The goose meat from Liang Mei Goose Meat Specialist is a bit special because it’s smoked with sugarcane, so the flavor is already quite rich on its own.
They still provide the orange dipping sauce at the back left — just dip a little. Too much will overpower the taste, and you won’t be able to enjoy the natural sweetness of the goose meat. Up!
I heard that before serving, the smoked goose meat is soaked for one minute in a secret sauce made with eight types of Chinese medicinal herbs, which helps bring out the sweet and fragrant flavors of the meat. But I still felt the texture could be softer — a bit of a pity.

%? Signature Dry Noodles 30 RMB/small (60 RMB/large)
The noodles were okay in texture — not too mushy, with a slight chewiness. ((But eat them quickly, because when you take noodles to go, they always turn soggy. So wasteful.
The sauce tasted similar to the one served with the smoked goose, but it was a bit sweeter.
I really liked the dry noodles from both places.

When the dry noodles arrive, don’t forget to mix the sauce in thoroughly before eating.
And make sure to mix it evenly — that way, the flavor will be just right.
I remember as a kid, I used to hate bean sprout roots and green onion bits, and I’d spend ten minutes picking them all out of my signature dry noodles every time. XD

%? Goose Sauce Noodles 30 RMB/small bowl (60 RMB/large bowl)
At first, I couldn’t find the noodle soup option. Turns out, all the items in the “goose sauce” series on the menu are actually soups.
The broth is very fragrant and flavorful, with a bit of fried shallot oil and chopped green onions added.
The noodles absorb the rich, flavorful broth — even if you skip the noodles and just drink the soup, it’s super satisfying.

%? Blanched Greens 60 RMB/large portion (30 RMB/small portion)
The blanched greens also have fried shallot oil added, giving them an extra layer of aroma.

%? Garlic Blood Cake 30 RMB/serving
This blood cake for 30 RMB is really quite cheap.
If it could be a bit more tender, it would taste better. It was slightly too firm, and the sauce was a bit too salty.

This is a place called Ancient-Style Noodles located in Lane 737 near Mitte’s home. They also serve this kind of blood cake there.
It’s 10 NT more expensive than the blood cake from this Liangmei Goose Meat Specialist, but both places have their own unique charm!

%?Goose Intestine in Sauce 100 NT/large portion (50 NT/small portion)
The goose intestines have a nice crunchy texture, but the flavor is a bit mild. The sauce, on the other hand, looks quite glossy XD
