Make your own cartoon cake！Taiwan’s first “cake tourism factory” opens in Tainan

In recent years, the DIY trend has taken off. Travelers are no longer satisfied with just “being there”—they want to experience and engage firsthand. Taiwan’s tourism factories come in all kinds, ranging from traditional food producers to cosmetics brands, allowing visitors to explore production processes up close while also offering many fun DIY workshops. And now, Taiwan’s very first “cake tourism factory” has officially opened！

Spotting an opportunity in the experiential travel market, Tainan City alone is home to over 20 tourism factories of various sizes, and the Pitiva Art Cake Tourism Factory has become the area’s 25th. The name “Pitiva” has a fun backstory—its founder once saw a girl sneak a bite of cake and pop it into her mouth. Watching the child’s satisfied smile, the mom could only laugh (and scold a little) as she bought the cake. This cute anecdote also inspired the brand’s punny name, which sounds like “cake that was stolen a bite from” (彼缇娃, or Pitiva).

The Pitiva Art Cake Tourism Factory has officially opened, with the venue divided into six main areas: a theme pavilion, an art cake theme pavilion, a freshly baked goods section, a DIY classroom, and more. Visitors can not only enjoy the aroma of fresh bread but also make their own 5T cartoon-style cakes. With guidance from professional instructors on-site, participants can experience the joy of baking hands-on.
