The calla lily fields on Yangmingshan are stunning – five walking trails to enjoy the scenery of Zhuzihu

The Yangmingshan Flower Season has entered its peak blooming period and will conclude on March 9. Soon to follow is the Zhuzihu Calla Lily Season. Thanks to several days of sunshine, over 50% of the calla lilies have already blossomed. The Taipei City Department of Civil Engineering recommends five riverside trails surrounding the calla lily fields. Not only can you stroll through the white sea of flowers, but you can also wander through the mountains and forests, enjoying a refreshing encounter with nature.

Due to the rapid flow of upstream water in Zhuzihu, heavy rains used to cause severe erosion in the past. After restoration by the Department of Civil Engineering, the original agricultural pathways were preserved, creating five riverside trails that balance safety, scenery, and foliage: the “Dinghu Circular Trail,” “Calla Lily Circular Trail,” “Literary Trail,” “Hudi Circular Trail,” and “Zhuzihu Circular Trail.” These trails connect the five areas of Zhuzihu — Dinghu, Xiahu, Hudi, Donghu, and Shuiwei — each offering unique scenic beauty, making them perfect for a spring outing in early spring.
