Following Fukuyama Masaharu’s praise for Taiwan on his radio show last year, where he expressed his wish to become Taiwan’s tourism ambassador and encouraged fans to visit, the Tourism Bureau, after six months of planning and effort, has finally succeeded in inviting him to serve as Taiwan’s tourism goodwill ambassador. Debuting as a singer-songwriter in 1990, Fukuyama Masaharu has written numerous hit singles, with over 21.3 million records sold, making him the top-selling male artist in Japanese music history. Beyond music, he is also known for his roles in dramas such as the genius physics professor in “Galileo” and Sakamoto Ryoma in “Ryomaden.”
To beautifully showcase Taiwan, Fukuyama Masaharu specially led a Japanese team to Taiwan to film promotional videos and print advertisements, and produced postcards to distribute to audiences at his concerts in Japan, aiming to promote Taiwan to even more of his Japanese fans.
The Tourism Bureau is also seeking further collaboration opportunities with Fukuyama Masaharu, hoping that Japanese fans will follow their idol’s footsteps to Taiwan for a star-chasing experience and to enjoy the best time to visit — “Time for Taiwan, Travel Taiwan Now.”
