Following the sudden departure of Ukrainian President Viktor YANUKOVICH in late February 2014, the country’s political situation has deteriorated rapidly. Clashes continue between supporters and opponents of the interim government, with tensions running high—particularly in the Crimea region—where military conflict cannot be ruled out.

To safeguard the safety of its citizens abroad,the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has upgraded Ukraine’s travel alert to “Red” effective immediately,and advises against all travel to the country.
