The iconic movie scene from *Night at the Museum* where statues and artifacts come to life after dark has delighted audiences with its imaginative flair. Ever wondered what it would be like to spend the night in a museum? Taiwan’s Beinan Cultural Park Museum is about to make that a reality with an upcoming sleepover event.

Renowned for its striking asymmetrical design, the museum's gray-white walls made of exposed concrete, paired with its long stairway and interplay of light and shadow, have made it a popular photogenic spot in northern Taiwan. While most people are familiar with the museum during daytime hours, the nighttime version offers a completely new adventure.

To satisfy public curiosity, the New Taipei City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs launched the “Beinan Night Surprise – Museum Sleepover” event in July. This includes a draw for an overnight stay with two meals, allowing participants to follow in the footsteps of the movie and explore the museum at night. With guides leading family-friendly tours, you’ll uncover relics, learn about the Beinan site and culture, and even sleep just steps away from the nationally significant artifact—the “Human-Faced Pottery Jar”—to discover the secrets museums hold after dark.

How to Enter: Like the Beinan Museum’s Facebook fan page, follow the event post, and leave a comment saying “I want to sleep with the Human-Faced Pottery Jar,” while tagging three friends.
Cost: Free (only 13 spots available per session)
Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 7 and above (children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; participants aged 10–17 must submit parental consent).
