When strawberry season arrives, I always have to talk about this beloved spot of mine—Huajianji (Flower Collection), a place I must visit every year to indulge in a plate of their signature strawberry milk snowflake ice. It’s actually the pioneer of strawberry snowflake ice and has been around for at least ten years now!

Wow, I’ve known the owner for almost ten years too by now (shocking), how time really does fly, doesn’t it? XD. The strawberry milk snowflake ice here is made by shaving strawberry milk ice bricks into fluffy snowflake ice, then drizzled with condensed milk, strawberry jam, and topped with generously sliced fresh strawberries. It’s dreamy, pastel pink, sweet and tangy without being cloying—the sweetness level is just right, making it a total favorite among strawberry-loving pink princesses.
Located next to the Dahu Farmer’s Association, Huajianji is very easy to find and convenient to get to.

The weather was so nice today, with blue skies and white clouds—paired with the flowers and the colorful exterior of Huajianji, it truly made for a vibrant day.

The exterior has a cute, rustic fairy-tale style, and it’s all personally created by the owner—super impressive.

I love this style of little wooden house, it feels so fairy-tale-like!

The strawberry milk snowflake ice is only available as a limited seasonal item during strawberry season. Aside from the snowflake ice, they also offer strawberry hot pot, stir-fried rice, pasta, risotto, and more...

At the entrance of the shop, there’s a big white A-Leng (a character from a Japanese anime), who looks silly but adorable. The owner said bringing this figure into the shop was quite the ordeal—such a hassle!

The interior decor follows a fairytale countryside grocery style, all carefully collected by the owner herself—just saying, this woman is incredibly talented.

It's clear that two rooms were combined into one, so the dining space inside is very spacious, and the design has a strong international flair. The walls are intentionally finished with slightly rough wood paneling, adding consistency to the overall aesthetic.

There are uniquely shaped pendant lights and ivy all over the room, plus handcrafted rustic-style accessories—very European and also a bit Japanese.

The dining space is quite roomy, but during strawberry season, it gets fully packed on weekends.

The walls inside are decorated with some cute little items that really catch your eye.

Casually placing a couple of big red flowers also adds a unique charm.

The sunflower clock—just looking at it makes you feel like spring has arrived, bright as sunshine.

Adorable dolls are casually displayed on the walls—they’re a bit laid-back and casual, yet undeniably cute and hard to ignore.

The outdoor space is also accompanied by floral walls—the owner loves planting flowers and plants, which is why it’s called “Hidden Flower Pavilion.”

Doesn’t the outdoor seating area have a lovely international vibe?

The owner also sells various collected knick-knacks—feel free to check them out if you’re interested.

Huajianji doesn’t actually offer many items—it’s quite simple, just hot pot, pasta, risotto, strawberry milk snowflake ice, drinks, and so on...

During strawberry season, the must-order item is the strawberry milk snowflake ice. The shop even thoughtfully offers it in single, double, and eight-person portions with different pricing.

Strawberry milk snowflake ice (two-person portion) for 200 NT—just as I mentioned earlier, they buy strawberry ice bricks from suppliers and shave them into snowflake ice, so the base already has the aroma and taste of strawberries. Then it’s drizzled with condensed milk to enhance the sweet milky flavor, balanced with the tartness of the strawberry jam.

So it tastes sweet and tangy with a rich creamy flavor. Finally, it’s topped with freshly sliced seasonal strawberries—how could such a dreamy combo not be delicious? Isn’t it just amazing!!!

The snowflake ice is so fluffy and smooth, light and melts in your mouth, leaving a lingering strawberry fragrance. The best way to eat it is to scoop a big mouthful along with some fresh strawberry slices—enjoying the soft sweetness of the ice and the juicy crispness of the strawberries, creating a wonderfully rich, multi-layered texture.

When scooping into the little mountain of strawberry milk snowflake ice, you’ll discover hidden strawberry jam inside—it’s such a lovely surprise. It would be even better if there were fresh strawberry slices hidden in there too, haha~

Fresh strawberry fruit tea, one pot for 160 NT—a beautiful transparent cup filled with fruit slices in fruit tea, vibrant in color and looks very refreshing, though for me it’s a bit too sweet.

The combo platter of fried snacks (fries, popcorn chicken, onion rings) for 200 NT dollars — such a huge portion served on a Kitty-themed plate, so cute. The fries were crispy, the popcorn chicken was pretty average, and the onion rings were decent. Just your run-of-the-mill fried snacks, nothing too exciting. Here, we’d recommend the strawberry milk snowflake ice, as well as the risotto, bibimbap, or hot pot — all are really good!

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited Huajianji — I really love this place. They’re also the original creators of the strawberry milk snowflake ice. If you want to try it, make sure you come to Huajianji, the real deal!
