The first time I saw the introduction to the Hsinchu Tofu Rock attraction, I knew I had to come here for photoshoots. Lately, Taiwan has been swept up in a rock trend, with both Eagle Stone Point and Elephant Trunk Rock becoming IG hotspots. Tofu Rock is located in the Touqian River in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County, and is a hidden gem favored by many photography enthusiasts. The best part? You don’t need to hike to get to Tofu Rock. ((Very important.)) It’s an effortlessly accessible spot.

Navigating there using Google Maps is easy—just follow the directions. When you arrive, you’ll see a large open area for parking. If you’re taking public transport, you can first take the train to Hsinchu Station and then transfer to a taxi, which takes about 16–20 minutes. If the fare is within your budget, taking a taxi is more convenient. Don’t forget to ask the driver for their contact info or how to book a ride again before getting out.

The vast view, paired with the cloudless blue sky, screams summer vibes… can’t help but take a deep breath...

Gurgling streams slide over the edges of the rocks, as if strolling on the river itself. In an instant, the Tofu Rocks become a runway for girls.

It’s recommended to wear casual, comfortable shoes because some of the rock gaps are quite wide. Pay attention to your footing while taking photos. (Think hopscotch on water.)

Warm sunlight pours down, and the breeze gently brushes your cheeks—it’s the essence of summer.

The expansive Touqian River looks beautiful whether you’re shooting close-up or from afar. Visit during the day, and the brilliant sunlight and azure skies will make it easy for girls to snap those summery Japanese-style candid shots. Maybe it’s time to update your FB profile pic or freshen up your IG status.

That day, I took a lot of photos with a group of friends and played for over two hours. My whole face got sunburned, so be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen.
