Emphasizing "on-the-spot response and verbal communication" — V Air's first cabin crew recruitment sees over 800 applicants competing for 80 spots

V Air (V Air), Taiwan’s first locally-owned low-cost airline backed by TransAsia Airways, will hold its first recruitment interviews on March 21, with a total of 80 cabin crew positions available. TransAsia Airways stated that as of the 14th, over 800 people had applied. Compared to traditional airlines, V Air’s interview questions will place greater emphasis on on-the-spot response and verbal communication.

V Air is expected to begin operations by the end of the year, using A320 and A321 aircraft, primarily flying to Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. TransAsia Airways spokesperson Kao Chih-hua said that since applications are validated by postmark, many people will rush to submit their forms on the final day. The exact number of applicants is expected to become clearer on the 17th, and is likely to rise further.

Kao Chih-hua stated that V Air’s future operational model will differ from that of traditional airlines, and the selection process for cabin crew will also include different evaluation criteria. Among them, the interview questions will focus more on candidates’ on-the-spot performance and verbal communication compared to traditional airlines.

Taiwan Tigerair, a low-cost airline jointly established by China Airlines and Singapore’s Tigerair, is also set to begin operations by the end of the year.
