What do mysterious cosmic planets really look like? Recently, a moon craze has swept across Taiwan — from the wildly popular glowing moon in Tainan to the Dream Village exhibited at the Christmas Village in Qianmei, Taichung. These mysterious cosmic installations make you feel as if you’ve stepped into a dream. ET Travel Cloud has compiled 6 cosmic-level scenic spots. This time, skip the overseas trip and run away to the moon together.

1. Qian Art Museum

The Qianmei Tiandi Christmas Village in Taichung is now in its 10th year. This year, themed “Dreams,” oversized beds and smaller ones were placed outdoors along with numerous moons of various sizes. At night, the planets light up and change colors. All the beds allow visitors to lie down and daydream, creating a fantastical cosmic scene that’s great for photos both day and night, making it the hottest new check-in spot in Taichung.

2. Yuguang Island

The 2017 Yuguang Island Art Festival, themed “99 Ways to Chill Out on Yuguang Island,” featured 14 land art installations that attracted a flood of visitors. Although the event has ended, the organizers have kept the Sunset Tower, Whispering Intertidal Zone, and Misty Forest on display. Among them, the massive spheres of the Whispering Intertidal Zone stand alone on the tidal flats, evoking a somewhat desolate feel — as if exploring an unnamed planet in the universe.

Welcome to dine on the moon. Deer Point Coffee Luna has recently opened a branch near Tiger Head Mountain in Taoyuan, where a huge moon hanging on the second floor is a major eye-catcher. It all started with the owner’s romantic idea of “roasting coffee beans under the moonlight” — which has become the café’s most captivating feature. There’s even a hole in the floor beneath the giant moon — one wrong step and you might just get sucked into the mysterious charm of the cosmos.

4. Cosmic Tower

Remember the once wildly popular Cosmic Tower? It first made its debut at the Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taoyuan and captivated countless visitors with its unique and dazzling lighting effects. Eventually, it was moved to Lukang, becoming a new nighttime highlight there. The mysterious cosmic lights remain as enchanting as ever. Now, with fewer crowds, you can quietly admire its beauty.
