Disney Girl Mickey Appears in the East District: Chocolate Cupcakes Spark Nostalgia

Taiwan’s first chain of chocolate dessert brands authorized by Disney for bakingBlack as Chocolateofficially launched its first new dessert collection on the 29th — a series of Mickey and Minnie-themed cupcakes — at all its outlets nationwide.

On the launch day, in addition to offering early-bird promotions at three stores in Taipei’s Fuxing, Taichung’s Greenery Boulevard Eslite, and Kaohsiung’s Datong Peace, Black as Chocolate specially transformed its Fuxing branch in Taipei’s East District into a Disney-themed space. The store featured displays of Mickey and Minnie plush toys of all sizes “on counter duty,” and also hosted a dress code event where guests could receive free ice cream.

The cake display case was filled with Mickey and Minnie cupcakes in dominant shades of red, yellow, and black. Today, Black as Chocolate’s Taipei Fuxing branch has been transformed into a Disney-themed cake shop. The Mickey Mouse plush toys of various sizes on-site were not only specially borrowed from Taiwan’s Disney showroom but also included part of the private collections owned by the brand’s four founders.

Huang Kuang-hung, CEO of Black as Chocolate, said that while the rich, bittersweet flavor of chocolate melts on the tongue, the adorable visuals of Disney characters enhance the emotional experience, allowing the heart to savor a joyful taste full of childlike wonder.
