The 2014 Kenting Music Festival runs from the 3rd to the 6th, with the 4th and 5th expected to be the most crowded days. This year there will be a total of 6 venues hosting 7 concerts, spanning locations from Wuliting Airport, Nanwan, Kenting Street all the way to the parking lot of Eluanbi Park. The Pingtung County Police Department’s Traffic Division stated that mobile surveillance cameras will be deployed to crack down on traffic violations at any time, and urged the public to obey traffic rules.

The Pingtung County Police Department’s Traffic Division said that currently, organizers of music events have planned rock buses, which can be boarded at Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Taichung train stations. The “Spring Scream” concert also suggests on its official website that those heading to the event take the route from Hengchun Town through Manzhou Township along the East Coast to the Eluanbi Park venue, as it tends to have less traffic. If taking the Ping-E Highway via Nanwan, traffic jams could last one to two hours.

The traffic division will deploy 13 patrol motorcycles equipped with advanced full-time recording devices mounted on officers’ helmets, ensuring everything officers pass is recorded as evidence. The traffic division emphasized that private cars driving in lanes designated for motorcycles and bicycles will be fined NT$900 according to the law.
