Brands under Han Lai Cuisine have been actively expanding their presence recently. Han Lai Shanghai Soup Dumplings has moved beyond Kaohsiung to set up shop at Zhongyou Department Store, while Han Lai Pavilion has established itself at Taichung Guang San SOGO Department Store. Additionally, Han Lai Cuisine’s imported Hong Kong Michelin-level brand, the Celebrity Mansion, will also expand to Tainan Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, with the opening planned for December 29.
The Celebrity Mansion in Hong Kong is a restaurant helmed by the legendary chef Cheng Kam Fu (also known as Uncle Fu), which was awarded one Michelin star in the latest “Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2018.” Celebrities such as Brigitte Lin, Terry Gou, and Li Ka-shing have all dined at Uncle Fu’s establishment. One of its signature dishes, “Braised Chicken Wings Stuffed with Bird’s Nest,” was inspired during his collaboration with Run Run Shaw.
As winter approaches, the Celebrity Mansion in Kaohsiung has launched a series of new seasonal dishes, featuring premium autumn and winter ingredients such as sea bass eel, large mud crabs, and lamb. Among them, clay pot dishes that are slow-cooked to nourish and replenish the body are classic and authentic winter favorites in Hong Kong, offering diners a chance to enjoy delicious food and restore vitality. This new menu features two special sea bass eel dishes. Chef Lin Kai explained that after autumn, the texture of sea bass eel becomes especially springy and tender, making it a highly regarded nourishing dish for the colder months.

The Han Lai Cuisine brand “Han Lai Pavilion” officially opened its first store in Taiwan on October 20 on the 13th floor of Taichung Guang San SOGO Department Store. Formerly known as Han Lai Cuixuan Cantonese Restaurant, it expanded to Shanghai last October and, buoyed by high popularity, returned to Taiwan this year, choosing Taichung as its first destination. Han Lai Pavilion blends Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Shanghai cuisines, presenting dishes tailored to local palates. Signature dishes include nostalgic Eight Treasures Duck, Dry-Fried Spicy Chicken, Honeycomb Lychee Taro Buddha’s Delight, Fruitwood-Smoked Fennel Ribs, Freshly Roasted Peking Duck, Shaoxing Wine Steamed Crab with Year Cake, Gastrodia Elata Stewed Fish, Golden Garlic Q Sea Shrimp, and Fruit-Flavored Fresh Juice Shrimp Balls—all chef-recommended must-tries.
Meanwhile, Han Lai Shanghai Soup Dumplings has been operating in the Kaohsiung Han Lai Hotel for nearly 20 years. This year, it began expanding across Taiwan, with its first location in Taichung at the B Building, 15th Floor of Zhongyou Department Store, officially opening on September 8. In addition to its signature thin-skinned, juicy soup dumplings made to order, the menu also includes chef’s private dishes such as scallion-flavored shredded pork, Kung Pao Chicken, and Stir-Fried Three Delicacies.
