Last updated 2026-11-08 — The Tainan Immigration Office, whose official name is “the First Service Station of Tainan City, Service Affairs Brigade, Ministry of the Interior, Immigration Agency,” no wonder it’s hard to find when searching its full name online. With its European-style exterior, it’s actually a government office—surprising, right? That’s why visitors to Tainan always come to take a look and soak in the ambiance, as if stepping into an elegantly foreign world. The sky in Tainan is always gray—not exactly overcast, but the sun is still shining brightly. Whenever I go shopping in Tainan, I always miss that little xiaolongbao (soup dumpling) shop on Section 2 of Minquan Road, where I can grab a few bites and take a little mini-trip. This time, around the kapok trees on Section 2 of Fuzheng Road, they were in full bloom, as if urban kapok trees bloom earlier here than elsewhere.

At Baihe’s Lin Chupi, only about 20–30% of the flowers had bloomed, possibly due to the weather—the hotter the place, the earlier the blooms. So today, with the thought of seeing kapok flowers, the nearby immigration office instantly popped into my mind. Let’s go—let’s head to the Tainan Immigration Office.

The Tainan Immigration Office, whose official name is “the First Service Station of Tainan City, Service Affairs Brigade, Ministry of the Interior, Immigration Agency”—such a long name, no wonder it’s hard to find when searching its full name online.

With its European-style exterior, it’s actually a government office—surprising, right? That’s why visitors to Tainan always come to take a look and soak in the ambiance, as if stepping into an elegantly foreign world. No wonder so many people love taking photos or even wedding photos here.

The Tainan Immigration Office provides various services, such as overseas travel applications for military conscripts, residence permits for foreigners, entry/exit procedures for people from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and stateless persons from Taiwan, as well as the acceptance, review, and approval of stay requests.

In the center of the building, three lifelike horse statues add vibrancy, resembling a European-style structure.

The main color of the Tainan Immigration Office’s exterior is a soft pinkish-yellow, flanked by two round towers whose tips are accented with elegant light blue tones, creating a magnificent and graceful overall color scheme. The rooftop is further adorned with several corner windows and lighting fixtures, while the walls feature reliefs of horses, doves, and other decorations, giving it a strong Western flair.

The blooming kapok flowers in March add extra beauty to the immigration office.

The roadside trees on both sides of the immigration office are neatly and densely planted, and now the kapok flowers are in full, passionate bloom, adding yet another unique charm to what is already a beautiful European-style castle...

The bright red kapok flowers are on both sides and at the entrance, where a small pink bench has been specially placed—isn’t it lovely? It exudes a romantic atmosphere... allowing visitors taking photos here to capture warm, romantic memories.

Classically styled statues stand along the perimeter wall, further intensifying the exotic palace-castle vibe.

Truly, many people come here specifically for it—including me. At this beautiful government office, even handling errands feels more pleasant. Although the weather wasn’t great today without blue skies, I think the kapok flowers on both sides will make for some stunning photos...

There are also artistic statues around Wubridge Park.

Dubbed “the most beautiful government office in Taiwan,” does it look like a European castle? It’s been a top spot for many couples taking wedding photos, and it’s the most European-like place...

The exterior of the Tainan Immigration Office is not only eye-catching and beautiful, with its beige facade and blue conical roof resembling a palace castle, giving off the feeling of being in Europe.

Like a palace-like castle, surrounded by Renaissance-era imitation statues and adjacent to Wubridge Park, even the street lamps are European-style, making it the perfect setting for wedding photos and a popular attraction for photography enthusiasts.

Photography is naturally prohibited inside the Tainan Immigration Office, but we’ll focus on its exterior—a striking European-style structure. So visiting on a weekend is ideal to avoid the crowds of people conducting business.

Take in the beautiful European architecture—the beige building paired with a blue conical roof is truly gorgeous... If you have the chance to visit Tainan, don’t forget to stop by the immigration office and see one of the favorite spots for wedding photos. Snap a picture and blend your image into the European castle backdrop.
