Feeling pumped up on the Grand Line... with a cup of coffee, of course!

Taking the MRT from the Bannan Line to the Wenhu Line heading south, I’m finally heading to PEG again!

I recently started following the Facebook fan pages of various cafes, which made me realize that PEG has been stocking a ton of One Piece merchandise, with these figures popping up every now and then. And according to reliable intel, PEG is almost drowning in One Piece stuff!

So, besides getting my coffee fix this time, my other—and most important—goal was to see just how amazing Rizi’s One Piece collection really is!

I always thought scenes like this only existed in Taipei Underground Mall, but seeing something like this in a cafe is truly thrilling. The figures aren’t just placed randomly either—they’re mostly arranged in connection with scenes from the manga. And as Rizi’s collection keeps growing, the shelves are getting fuller and fuller, with the figures almost spilling out of their slots.

Usopp: “What’s your problem?”

“I’m sorry, as a blog owner, writing such a lousy article is just terrible. If I could be reincarnated, in my next life please let me be a mosquito larva...”

Brook: “That’s right, I’d like to be stepped on by stray dogs...”
Chopper: “My existence isn’t even worth a bluefish...”
Zoro: “I’m sorry, I actually exist on the same earth as all of you...”

Anyway, no matter how the shop changes, the coffee still tastes just as good—and that’s enough for someone like me.

Usually, I’d say this to certain cafes: “Just pick one for me, something from Central or South America.”

The owner, Rizi, didn’t tell me which region it was from, but at first sip, it had very low acidity and a distinct tea-like feel, then gradually revealed delicate floral and honey notes.

Later, Rizi told me it was a washed bean from Costa Rica.

Everyone who comes to PEG is pretty interesting—after drinking the coffee, you’ll find yourself wearing a satisfied smile :)
