Taipei’s Most Beautiful Grand Lake Park Pool Renovated: Green Architecture Blends with Scenic Landscape

Grand Lake Park in Neihu, which has undergone environmental renovations since 2009, announced the completion of its upgrade on the 26th. In addition to the refurbishment and maintenance of park pathways and bridges, the park’s annexed swimming pool has been completely revitalized. It now features both indoor and outdoor pools, with its roof designed as an observation deck, allowing visitors to “ascend for panoramic views” and admire the lake and mountain scenery of Grand Lake Park—truly making it one of Taipei’s most beautiful parks.

With over 30 years since its opening, Grand Lake Park spans a vast area, nestled against mountains and alongside water. Strolling along the lakeside path, visitors can enjoy the scenery of the nearly 10-hectare Grand Lake. The “Wisteria Bridge,” which connects the two ends of the lake and lives up to its name, resembles an elegant ribbon tightly linking both shores. After renovation by the city government, the Wisteria Bridge has been refurbished and equipped with railings and LED lights, adding even more charm to its nighttime appearance. The 1.5-kilometer-long lakeside path encircling the lake also features new observation platforms, offering visitors different perspectives to appreciate the beauty of Grand Lake.

The newly completed pool not only adopts green architectural design but also features indoor and outdoor pools that harmonize beautifully with the landscape. The most significant transformation is the pool annexed to Grand Lake Park. Designed with green building concepts, the pool structure uses an earth-covered landscape architecture approach. This not only helps reduce radiant heat and supports energy efficiency and environmental protection but also allows the pool to integrate fully with the park's scenery. The pool facilities have also been completely renewed, featuring both indoor and outdoor pools measuring 25 meters and 50 meters respectively, as well as a SPA pool, hot and cold pools, a steam room, sauna, and a children’s play pool. In addition to swimming, the rooftop of the pool offers an observation deck where visitors can enjoy the lake and mountain views of the park, providing a rare moment of leisure. The newly completed pool can rightly be called “the most beautiful in Taipei.”

The newly completed pool will begin a three-day trial operation starting the 26th, offering free admission to the public during the following hours: 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM, and 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It will officially open for operation on May 1st, with half-price discounts available for visitors throughout the month of May.
