The Taroko Express needs a break！The Puyuma will "fill in" on the Western Trunk Line for 1 year

The Puyuma can also be seen on the Western Trunk Line！The Taiwan Railways Administration's (TRA) Taroko Express has been in service for six years, and for vehicle safety reasons, it must undergo regular factory maintenance. TRA announced that starting April 29, the Taroko Express, which originally operated on the Western Trunk Line, will be temporarily replaced by the Puyuma for about one year.
TRA stated that all 136 newly purchased Puyuma trains have completed inspection and can temporarily replace the Taroko Express to operate on the Western Trunk Line. Starting April 29, there will be one daily round-trip between Taipei and Changhua. TRA also said that the electrification of the Eastern Line (Hualien-Taitung) is scheduled to open at the end of June, and the Puyuma's temporary service on the Western Trunk Line will not affect capacity or services on the eastern routes.
