The "Ocean Star" Observation Restaurant on the Qijin Ferry Has Opened; a Wishing Bell Tower Added to the Rooftop

Visiting the Qijin Ferry Terminal is no longer just about taking the ferry or enjoying an ice cream. The newly opened "Ocean Star Leisure Venue" on the 27th has not only transformed the long-unused second floor into an international observation coffee restaurant but has also opened up the never-before-seen observation rooftop as a wishing bell tower!

The striking red brick facade is a hallmark of the Qijin Ferry Terminal, which was originally mainly used for taking ferries to enjoy the views of Kaohsiung Harbor. Since the local enterprise "Ocean Star Development Agency" acquired the operating rights to the auxiliary space, this red building has been redesigned and renamed the "Ocean Star Leisure Venue." After the renovation, the building's exterior features nighttime artistic lighting, the first-floor public space environment and circulation have been completely revamped, and it has partnered with the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau to set up a travel information service, making this place not just a ferry terminal but also a leisure venue.

If you’re at the Qijin Ferry Terminal and don’t plan to go out to sea, be sure to check out the "International Observation Coffee Restaurant" on the second floor of the venue. In this cozy space, tables and chairs stretch inward along the windows. Through the large glass panes, you can occasionally see massive cruise ships passing by and gaze at the vessels shuttling through Kaohsiung Harbor and the coastal scenery. On holidays, cultural performances are also held here from time to time. It’s a comfortable space that combines sightseeing, leisure, and art. Meanwhile, the previously inaccessible rooftop has now become a wishing bell tower with a wishing bell, complete with wooden blessing cards, DIY souvenir coins, and commemorative stamps, allowing visitors to leave behind happy travel memories.
