Give back to the folks in the south: One Card intermodal rail-to-bus transfer with a NT$12 discount within 2 hours

Since its official launch in February, the “One Card,” widely used across southern cities and counties, has become a vital part of life in the region. To give back to the people of the south, the One Card company has specially introducedthe “One Card Taiwan Rail to Bus Transfer Discount Program” from May 1, 2014, to June 30, 2014. The program offers a NT$12 discount on bus fares for those who use the One Card to take the Taiwan Rail and then transferPingtung Busroutes, as long as the time between the two card taps is within 2 hours,.

To encourage more people to use the Taiwan Rail and transfer to bus routes, the One Card company has specially partnered with Pingtung Bus to launch a transfer discount campaign. Passengers using the One Card for transfers not only enjoy a 10% discount on local train fares compared to the original Taiwan Rail fare, but also receive a NT$12 discount on Pingtung Bus fares if the time between the two card taps is within 2 hours for unidirectional transfers. This allows travelers to use just one card for both train and bus rides while enjoying transfer discounts, creating an integrated transportation network between Kaohsiung and Pingtung, and bringing greater convenience to the public.

The Urban and Rural Development Bureau stated that the Pingtung City Public Bicycle Rental System, which the county government plans to establish this year, is also scheduled to integrate with the One Card. A free half-hour ride promotion will be launched to increase the turnover rate of “P-bikes,” reduce public reliance on motorcycles, and help improve air quality.
