Entry and exit through Hualien Port  —  Sun Princess pioneers a new cruise precedent

In the past, residents of Hualien who wanted to leave Taiwan often had to transfer flights via airports such as Taoyuan or Songshan. However, the Sun Princess, which is part of the Carnival Corporation & PLC cruise group, arrived directly at Hualien Port from Ishigaki Island at 7:00 AM on May 4th, and is scheduled to depart for Kobe at 6:00 PM. This marks the first time a cruise ship has used Hualien as its home port for passenger embarkation and disembarkation, allowing travelers to enter and exit the country with just their passports at Hualien Port for the first time.

According to the Maritime and Port Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, this voyage of the Sun Princess is an 8-night, 9-day trip, with three departures on May 4th, May 12th, and June 5th. Each departure is limited to 200 passengers. The itinerary includes stops in Hualien, Kobe, Kyoto, Amami Oshima, Okinawa, and Ishigaki Island, before finally returning to Hualien Port.
