Advancing into Europe！Scoot’s maiden flight to Athens on June 20，with flight attendants dressed as Greek goddesses

Scoot completed its maiden flight to Athens, Greece on June 20, offering a non-stop route from Singapore to Athens. This marks Scoot’s first European destination in its flight network and makes it the only low-cost carrier in Southeast Asia operating long-haul routes. To celebrate the inaugural flight, Scoot is offering promotional one-way fares from Taipei to Athens including taxes, starting from NTD 8,700 for economy class and NTD 26,150 for business class.

The Singapore-Athens route is operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with an 11.5-hour flight time, departing from Singapore Changi Airport every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. The inaugural flight was named Mous-Scoot-ka, inspired by the classic Greek dish “Moussaka.” Every passenger on the inaugural flight received a cute Athena-themed gift and a macaron labeled “Athens” upon boarding.

For the inaugural flight to Athens, something special was definitely in store！Shortly after takeoff from Singapore Changi Airport, a fashion show and beauty pageant kicked off, with passengers and crew participating in cosplay together！Passengers strutted down the aisle in Greek-mythology-inspired outfits, and even the flight attendants donned unique costumes — the cabin was filled with “goddesses” and “gods,” brimming with Athens flair.

Free Wi-Fi on the plane is no dream！After passengers had rested, the flight attendants held a quiz with prizes — those who answered questions about the inaugural flight correctly could win free in-flight Wi-Fi or Scoot airplane models, making for a very lively scene. The Mous-Scoot-ka arrived at Athens International Airport (AIA) at 8:45 am local Greek time, which was 1:45 pm on June 20 Taipei time. The Scoot 787 Dreamliner was warmly welcomed at Athens International Airport, with a water cannon salute and a Greek Moussaka party. Athens International Airport CEO Dr. Yiannis Paraschis and Scoot CEO Lee Lik Hsin also made appearances.

Scoot CEO Lee Lik Hsin said: “The new Singapore-Athens route operated by Scoot is currently the only direct flight between Southeast Asia and Greece；not only the only low-cost airline, but the only airline offering this route. With the launch of this long-haul service, Scoot plans to expand to five new destinations next year, including one long-haul route and four medium-to-short-haul routes. Starting with the Singapore-Athens route, we will offer Asian and European travelers more new choices.”

The long-haul flight meal combinations included a deluxe meal (main course, two sides, drink) and a light meal (main course, two snacks, drink). Traditional Greek dishes such as Greek salad and Moussaka were also added to the menu, echoing the characteristics of the destination, Athens. Meal combinations could be pre-selected up to 72 hours before the flight.
