This was Yan’zi’s first time flying with his own seat. To keep him occupied on the plane, I specially bought a magnetic sticker book and stickers featuring various car designs.

The flight from Taipei to Okinawa takes about 70 minutes, and throughout the entire journey, the magnetic sticker book turned out to be a great helper in keeping Yan’zi calm.

Vast park area 'Immersed in the ocean

When visiting Okinawa, Ocean Expo Park is an absolutely must-see attraction. Located in the northern part of Okinawa, the park covers a large area and can be divided into two sections: the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and the Ocean Expo Park itself.

We arrived just in time before the dolphin performance, so we headed straight to greet the adorable dolphins. The dolphin show lasts about 20 minutes, and these cute dolphins are very popular with everyone. They jump and balance balls on their noses, and the exciting performances combined with the enthusiastic staff and trainers captivate everyone’s attention. Little Yan’zi even asked to watch the recorded video when we got home afterward.

After the show, we went to the aquarium, which houses a wide variety of fish in different colors and shapes. Most importantly, you must see the “Kuroshio Sea”—this massive tank is truly spectacular. For two-year-old Yan’zi, it felt like a giant aquarium full of fascinating animals that kept him deeply engaged.

Going further down, you can see whale sharks and manta rays swimming overhead, giving you the feeling of being underwater. There is also an interactive area where children can touch real starfish.

Beach beauty 'Serene state of mind

Hamagawa Royal Beach Resort is a resort hotel with breathtaking ocean views. There is a short walk from the hotel to the beach, so on the day we landed, after checking in, we quickly changed into swimsuits and headed straight for the beach to play.

Thanks to the great weather, the vast blue sky paired with the beautiful beach and clear seawater truly felt like a paradise on earth.

We let little Yan’zi sit in an inflatable car-shaped float ring and played in the water with him while enjoying the scenery—it was truly an unforgettable experience.
