Kyushu's Huis Ten Bosch Rose Festival Begins – Thousands of Varieties, Millions of Blooms in Full Display

The entire garden shines with roses under the sun, creating a breathtaking sight. The 2014 Kyushu Huis Ten Bosch Rose Festival in Japan will run for nearly a month starting May 9. Visitors can enjoy approximately 1,000 varieties and nearly one million colorful roses blooming together. Travelers heading to Kyushu may want to consider adding this to their itinerary.

Dubbed the "sea of roses," the Huis Ten Bosch rose displays will burst into bloom again this year on the 9th. Featuring 1,000 varieties and one million roses from around the world, the festival will showcase red, purple, pink, and other hues of roses in full glory. The park has also created five major rose viewing spots, including the Plaza Rose Garden, Rose Palace, Rose Square, Rose Museum, and Rose Canal.

Visitors strolling through the sea of roses can admire the spectacular scenery formed by roses planted along the waterways. They can also walk through the rose arbor, enjoy a cup of rose tea, or take a boat ride along the one-kilometer-long Rose Canal to take in the floral views along the banks. The resort’s hotel features a “Rose Museum” where guests can relax and enjoy the fragrance of roses.
